YSS was contacted by the general contractor of this project to consult and install a total quantity of 22 FSI Model 288 push piers in eight concentrated load zones throughout the existing foundation. The original home was demolished and a new contemporary home was designed and scheduled for construction. The new home had a roof pitch of 1.5/12 in an area with a snow load potential of 200 psf. Push piers were specified by the design engineer to reinforce areas of the salvaged foundation in order to support the increased loads. YSS had to be innovative in this project as push piers require a reactive force equal to or greater than the ultimate installation force. Considering that the greater structure was now gone, a temporary load was required for a successful installation. YSS requested that a 20-ton excavator be available on-site to provide this temporary load at each point of installation. The plan was executed perfectly and the piers were installed in five days.
